Computational complexity and high memory usage are the main obstacles for incorporating automatic speech recognition system on small devices which are limited by computation, memory or battery energy. As a core technology, ASR Gooyesh Embedded Speech Recognition (AG-ESR) engine is derived and developed from ASR Gooyesh continuous speech recognition engine. AG-ESR engine responds in real time and consumes very low resource so it is suitable for devices such as PDAs, mobile phones, hardware chips and etc. Available features available on PDAs making them good for speech recognition applications. All new PDAs have built in microphones and voice recording programs as well as programs for playing sound. In addition, most PDAs have several programmable buttons which can be used to launch the speech recognition program.
